Our training comes in five forms.

Puppy School: four weeks of small group class for puppies up to 16 weeks, with home sessions and the online course from Silver up.

Private Puppy Training: the same levels, run in your home with no group class, and an extra home session at every level instead.

Puppy Orientation Session: one 90 minute session in your home for a new puppy, at $375.

Adult Dog Training and Behaviourism: one to one sessions in your home for dogs 32 weeks and older, at $465 per 90 minute session.

Never Guess Again: our online course on its own, with a live Zoom Q&A every week.

Puppy school runs at six venues: Paddington, Edgecliff, Neutral Bay, Zetland, Alexandria and Marrickville. Start dates vary by venue, so check the puppy school dates page. Everything else happens in your own home, across Sydney.

Start the day your puppy comes home. The habits you will be trying to undo at eight months are being set in the first few weeks, so the sooner the routine at home is right, the less work there is later.

Book your one to one session early so you are set up from day one. For group puppy school your puppy needs their second vaccination first, which usually means we can take them from around 11 weeks. The online course runs week by week from eight weeks to twenty-four weeks, so there is always something to work on while you wait.

Yes. You can join at any point. There may be one or two elements you have already passed, but plenty of owners join later and get just as much out of it.

The course is divided into age brackets so you are only ever reading the part that matches the puppy in front of you. If your puppy is already past 16 weeks, Private Puppy Training is usually the better fit, because it swaps the group class for an extra home session. We will tell you that rather than sell you the wrong thing.

The only hard limit is group puppy school. Your puppy needs their second vaccination to join, which usually happens somewhere in the twelve to fourteen week range and most commonly at twelve weeks. That is for safety.

What changes between the levels is the one to one time in your own home, whether you have the online course, and how long your access and direct support run for. In home sessions are sixty to ninety minutes.

• Bronze is puppy school on its own, with lifetime community access and Ask Luke behind you
• Silver adds a setup session at your house before school starts, six months of course access, plus direct message support
• Gold includes three sessions, a full year of access, and phone support as well as messaging
• Platinum includes ten sessions, lifetime access, training equipment and the video library, and is capped at five clients at a time

Absolutely not. If you want a method like that I suggest you call the 1980s, go back there and never get a dog.

We teach The 5 Golden Rules, which is built on calm and consistent communication. The aim is a dog who chooses to look to you when something happens, rather than a dog who has been made to. No pain, no fear, no force, ever, and that is not a marketing line. Anything that works through intimidation gets you a quieter dog for a fortnight and a worse problem six months later.

Developing a well behaved dog has 2 parts: dog psychology & dog training. We focus first on understanding your dog and getting them to choose to follow and listen to us. When dogs aren't making all the decisions, they calm down and relax, making them far more receptive to training. To do this, we don’t need to use force, fear or aggression. In fact the opposite. Whether dealing with barking, leash pulling, jumping, or aggression, these behaviours typically stem from dogs being too excited, reactive, and emotional. The key is getting them to turn to you and listen when it matters. Once they're calm and looking to you for guidance, you can effectively show them how to behave.

Yes. For dogs 32 weeks and older we work one to one in your own home, through Adult Dog Training and Behaviourism. Each session is 90 minutes and costs $465. You book one session at a time, so you only book another if you need it.

Group puppy school runs at six venues, and all six take bookings: Dogs in Town at 308 Oxford Street, Paddington; Dogs in Town at 44 Epsom Road, Zetland; Dogs in Town at 500 Glenmore Road, Edgecliff; Dogs in Town at 266 Mitchell Road, Alexandria; Dogs in Town at 55 Addison Road, Marrickville; and DoggieLove at 71 Military Road, Neutral Bay.

Your one to one sessions happen at your own address wherever you are in Sydney, so only the group class brings you to a venue.

Meet and greets are completely free and there is no obligation to work with us after the meet and greet has taken place.

Getting enrolled is simple. Go to the puppy page and choose your level of support. Then pick your puppy school date, and you will be asked to book your one to one sessions, the number depending on the tier you chose. Everything is sent straight to your calendar.
