Do you offer private adult dog training?

Yes. For dogs 32 weeks and older everything is one to one in your own home. There is no group class at this age. Your first session runs two hours and every session after that runs sixty to ninety minutes. There are four levels, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. They differ by how many sessions you get, how long you have the online course, and how you reach us afterwards. Every level includes Ask Luke, our 24/7 support, with no message limit.

Do you offer fully private puppy training?

Yes. Every level from Silver upwards includes one to one sessions in your own home, and you can add as many as you need. Silver has one, Gold has three and Platinum has ten. Bronze is the group class on its own, so it is the one level that does not include a home session. Some owners would rather skip the group class entirely, and there are good reasons for that. We can run a fully one to one programme, but only where you can show us how your puppy is being properly socialised outside our training. Socialisation is not an optional extra at that age, and a private programme that quietly drops it does more harm than good. For dogs past sixteen weeks the question does not arise. There is no group class on Puppy Training or Dog Behaviour Training, so those programmes are one to one at your address by default.

How many dogs are in puppy school?

Classes are capped at ten puppies and matched by size, which balances quality with socialisation.

What are your puppy school locations?

Group puppy school runs at six venues, and all six take bookings: Dogs in Town at 308 Oxford Street, Paddington; Dogs in Town at 44 Epsom Road, Zetland; Dogs in Town at 500 Glenmore Road, Edgecliff; Dogs in Town at 266 Mitchell Road, Alexandria; Dogs in Town at 55 Addison Road, Marrickville; and DoggieLove at 71 Military Road, Neutral Bay. Anyone in Sydney can attend any of them. Start dates vary by venue, so check the booking page for what is running next or ask us and we will tell you. Your one to one sessions happen at your own address wherever you are in Sydney, so only the group class brings you to a venue.

What are the main services you offer?

Our dog training runs in three stages and you pick the one that matches your dog's age. 8 to 16 weeks: puppy school, which includes four weeks of group class 17 to 32 weeks: puppy training, for the stage where most owners feel they are losing the dog they had. There is no group class at this age 32 weeks and older: behaviour training, one to one in your own home Puppy school runs at six venues, and all six take bookings: Paddington, Edgecliff, Neutral Bay, Zetland, Alexandria and Marrickville. Which areas of Sydney do you work in?

One to one training happens in your home, anywhere in Sydney within roughly a forty five minute drive of the Harbour Bridge. That covers the: Inner City and City Centre Eastern Suburbs Inner West Lower North Shore Upper North Shore Northern Beaches Hills District Western Sydney South Sydney and St George Group puppy school runs at six fixed venues within about eight kilometres of the Harbour Bridge: Paddington, Edgecliff, Neutral Bay, Zetland, Alexandria and Marrickville. How will my dog respond to the training?

Like people, all dogs are different. What really matters is not your dog, but you. Some dog's can be more stubborn but ultimately if you engage in calm and consistent action your dog will get better.\n

Can you guarantee results?

No honest trainer can guarantee a specific outcome. Most of the work happens in your home between sessions, and your dog is not a machine. Anyone promising you a fixed result is selling you something. What we do commit to is this. You get a plan built around your dog rather than a script, and a written follow up after every session so you are never left guessing what to do next. You get direct access to us for the length of your support period, and Ask Luke any hour of the day. You keep community access for life. If you are doing the work and you are not getting anywhere, tell us. We will look at what is actually happening in the house and change the plan. That is included, and it is the part most owners find they needed.

What is the best dog training method for me?

There are four major schools of dog training and you will suit one better than the rest. We have a short course and a selection tool that walks you through them. Pragmatic Positive Trainers Relational Leadership, which is what we use Scientific Conditioners Empathetic Trainers All four have produced trainers who have helped hundreds of thousands of people. If you join our community and then decide a different method suits you better, that is a good outcome.

I adopted a slightly older rescue, can you help?

If you have a rescue and are looking for support, we can absolutely help. Rescue dogs are usually too old for the puppy school but you can join the adolescent program (4 months+) to help get support on how to manage common behavioural issues.
