Never Guess Again vs YouTube and Social Media
By Luke Buchanan, founder of The Toe Beans Co, Sydney. Updated October 2026.
Short answer: YouTube and social media are great for seeing what a skill looks like, and they are free. The trouble is that every trainer uses a different method, nothing tells you the order, and you cannot ask a video a question. Never Guess Again gives you one trainer, one force-free method and one order, from 8 weeks old to six months.
You scrolled for ten minutes and saved six videos. Every one of them said something different. This page explains what videos do well, where they leave you guessing, and what is different about Never Guess Again.

What YouTube and social media do well
They are free, there is plenty of choice, and you can see a skill being done. If you want to know what a good sit or a calm lead walk looks like, a video is a great way to see it.
Where videos leave you guessing
- Trainers disagree, so you end up mixing methods.
- Videos are made to get views, not to fit your puppy.
- Promises like a fixed dog in 48 hours often sit next to something for sale.
- Nothing tells you which video matters at your puppy's age.
- You cannot ask a video a question.
Some of the methods you will see use force or fear. We never do. Our rule is no pain, no fear, no force and no aggression.
What changes with Never Guess Again
Never Guess Again: The 6-Month Puppy Programme is one trainer, one method and one order. Luke lays it out so you only see what matches the puppy in front of you. The course has five parts:
- Orientation: day one, why the method works, how the course works and common puppy myths
- The Big 8: biting, toilet training, daily routine, crate training, crying, sleeping, home set up and socialisation
- The Weekly Journey: week by week, from 8 weeks old to six months, in order
- The Problem Library: handling and care like nail trims, teeth cleaning and vet visits, command training, recall and quick guides for common problems
- Learn About Your Breed: breed profiles and your breed-specific 4 week guide
On top of the course you get a weekly Zoom Q&A with Luke, recorded so you can watch it back, Ask Luke, Luke's digital mind, and a community you can stay in for life.
You stop collecting ideas and start following a plan.
