Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions we get about our services

Common Questions

Is the in-home visit included?

Yes, always. We come to your home before the group sessions begin and set up the foundations of routine and environment that make the puppy school itself significantly more effective.

What support comes as standard?

You then receive ongoing online, phone and community support including our Complete Puppy Program up until they are 8 months (if you have chosen more support there will also be more 1:1s). If your dog is older than 16 weeks we do offer an adolescent program where we replace puppy school for additional 1:1 sessions whilst still providing the same support as the puppy program

How long is the puppy program?

The program runs from the day your puppy comes home through to around 8 months old. The 4-week in-person Puppy School happens once your puppy has had their second vaccination, usually from around 11 weeks, with 6 months of dedicated support throughout.

What is included in the puppy program (long version)

Our puppy program includes the following:

  • Initial Home Puppy Consult: We come and meet you and your puppy in your own home. We can help with how to set up your puppy area's and with issues such as toileting and teething.
  • Access a 4 Week Puppy School (once your puppy has had their second vaccination — usually from around 11 weeks): Our 4 week puppy school covers socialisation, behaviourism, command training and owner education. 4 x 50 minute puppy classes covering everything that you need to know

What are the main services you offer?

The Toe Beans Co offers the following services: puppy school & programs, adolescent dog training, adult dog training, adult dog behaviourism, pet sitting, dog walking and doggy daycare services.

Do you offer fully private puppy training?

All of our puppy programs come with at least 1 x at home one to one session included. You can choose to increase this to however many sessions you need. Some clients do not want to participate in group classes for several reasons. Socialisation is a critical point of puppy development. We are able to offer a full one to one experience for clients that are able to prove they can fully socialise their dog outside of our training.

Can I get more detail on your puppy school?

The puppy school is 4 consecutive weeks and sessions last up to 1 hour. You will be in a class with up to 10 puppies which gives a good balance between socialisation and session control. The puppy school covers 4 main areas: dog behaviourism, command training (sit, stay, down, walk, recall), socialisation and finally owner education. Your puppy needs to have had their second vaccination to attend — most puppies start group school between 11 and 13 weeks old, though this can shift depending on your puppy's breed and size for the current class.

My Puppy is Already 12/14/16 etc weeks old. Can I Still Join?

Absolutely. You can join the course at any time. There may be elements that you are unable to do but plenty of owners join later on and really value having us there to help.

Our course is divided up in to different age brackets to help you get the most out of what you are looking for

There are a few ages where certain things happen but other than that there are no limitations:

  • Puppy School: Your puppy needs to have had their second vaccination to join — we're able to take puppies from around 11 weeks once this has happened. This is for safety

You can still view the online puppy school videos if you would like to see what we do.

Do you offer puppy walks?

Yes, we offer puppy walks to help young puppies socialise with their surroundings. There are strict requirements on vaccines for these services.

What comes with the puppy program?

The Toe Beans Co offers our Complete Puppy Program which includes: a 4 week group puppy school, 1:1 sessions, access to our online training course covering every element of puppy development, from Day 1 routines through to adolescent workshops, with breed specific support up to 8 months old and 6 months community and phone support. We offer 3 levels of service: silver, gold and platinum that help you tailor the amount of one-to-one sessions and support to your needs. For puppies too old to attend puppy school (>15 weeks) at enrolment we offer a dedicated adolescent program that provides more 1:1 training in lieu of the puppy school.
