Paul ("Baby" Eddie, Teacup Cavoodle)

“We can’t speak highly enough of The Toe Beans Co. Our puppy Eddie, has absolutely excelled, and we are so grateful for the support, encouragement and expertise they’ve provided.

The team is warm, professional and clearly love what they do. They created such a positive and supportive environment, and the progress we’ve seen in Eddie has been fantastic. She’s come such a long way, and it’s been a pleasure to watch.

What really sets The Toe Beans Co apart is how genuinely invested they are in our puppy’s development. Their care, knowledge and enthusiasm shine through in everything they do.

We thoroughly recommend The Toe Beans Co to anyone wanting the very best for their dog.”

Reeti (Sidney, King Charles Cavalier)

"Luke & The Toe Bean Co. have truly been a blessing for my pupper and me. After doing a deep dive trying to find the right trainer, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

From the very beginning, Luke and his team were incredibly accommodating. He took the time to personally meet with us, understand our living situation, and really listen to our circumstances. The entire program was thoughtfully customised to suit my pupper and her specific needs — it wasn’t a one-size-fits-all approach, and that made all the difference. We did both one on one sessions and socialising puppy school as well.

As a first-time dog mum, I was honestly overwhelmed at the start. Luke gave me the confidence to believe that I could do this. He was always available whenever I called or texted, and his constant guidance and support have been such a huge contributor to my baby now being calm, collected, and truly living her best life.

It goes without saying — my pupper absolutely adores Luke! His passion and genuine love for dogs is so evident in everything he does.

I also love hearing how it all began. Luke has always loved dogs (as you can definitely tell! 😂). While living in London and Edinburgh, he looked after dogs alongside his other job, which naturally led him to pursue formal dog training qualifications. He became fascinated by understanding why dogs behave differently with and without their owners. After moving to Australia, he decided to take the leap and run The Toe Bean Co. full time — and we’re so lucky he did!

Thank you so much, Luke & The Toe Bean Co. We are beyond grateful. Highly, highly recommend! 🐾"

Matt & Kat (Harold, Golden Retriever)

"Luke is amazing. We couldn't have raised our pup without him. This is so much better than other dog schools that I researched."

Jack (Mac, Dachshund)

"The group sessions were so valuable in terms of socialising my puppy in a safe environment while also testing out our training with a lot of distractions, this part was extremely helpful. Luke provided personal support and was always there to answer my questions outside of the group sessions. Mac is a better dog because of them."

Where is your dog up to

Pick the stage your dog is at now. Each one goes to a page that explains what actually happens, who runs it and how to book. If your dog is sitting between two stages, pick the younger one and we will move you if it turns out to be wrong.

Puppies Aged 8 - 16 Weeks

Biting, toileting, crying at night, and a puppy who has not yet worked out that you are worth listening to. Classes of six to ten puppies matched by size and age at five Sydney venues, a session in your own home, and a course that runs week by week so you are only ever reading the bit that matches the puppy in front of you.

Puppies Aged 16 - 32 Weeks

Your puppy is now too old for classes and has started testing every rule you set. Pulling, barking at the door, ignoring you the second there is anything more interesting around. Same program and the same week by week guides as puppy school, with the class hours swapped for extra one to one sessions in your home and on your street, right through to eight months.

Dog Training and Behaviourism, 32 Weeks and Over

Before you train the dog, you need to win their mind. We focus first on understanding your dog and getting them to choose to follow and listen to us. When dogs aren't making all the decisions, they calm down and relax, making them far more receptive to training. To do this, we don’t need to use force, fear or aggression. In fact the opposite. Whether dealing with barking, leash pulling, jumping, or aggression, these behaviours typically stem from dogs being too excited, reactive, and emotional. The key is getting them to turn to you and listen when it matters. Once they're calm and looking to you for guidance, you can effectively show them how to behave.
