What are your puppy school locations?

Our puppy schools run across several venues so there is a convenient one for you to attend during the puppy program. We currently offer Paddington, Marrickville, Neutral Bay, Zetland and Alexandria.

What are the main services you offer?

Our dog training runs in three stages and you pick the one that matches your dog's age.

  • 8 to 16 weeks: the Complete Puppy Program, which includes group puppy school
  • 16 to 32 weeks: adolescent training, for the stage where most owners feel they are losing the dog they had
  • 32 weeks and older: at home one to one behaviour training

Alongside the training we also offer pet sitting, dog walking, boarding and doggy daycare across Sydney.

Puppy School specifically runs within about 8km of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, across our five venues: Paddington, Zetland, Marrickville, Alexandria and Neutral Bay.

Does your training use pain, fear, force or aggression?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. If you want a method like that I suggest you call the 1980s, go back there and never get a dog. We teach The 5 Golden Rules, a method based on positive action that reinforces your role as the leader in your dog's eyes.

Can I get more detail on your puppy school?

The puppy school is 4 consecutive weeks and sessions last up to 1 hour. You will be in a class with up to 10 puppies which gives a good balance between socialisation and session control. The puppy school covers 4 main areas: dog behaviourism, command training (sit, stay, down, walk, recall), socialisation and finally owner education. Your puppy needs to have had their second vaccination to attend. Most puppies start group school between 11 and 13 weeks old, though this can shift depending on your puppy's breed and size for the current class.

Are there any dog breeds you do not work with?

No. Whether you have: a Chihuahua or a Mastiff, an unhinged lunatic of a Spaniel or a goofball of a Rottie. Big, small, angry, lazy, cute, ugly, cuddly or just straight up weird, we love them all.

Many dogs are stereotyped against because some idiot decided to treat them badly and make them into something they are not.

I have worked with Groodles that were dangerous to the point I couldn't enter the room and a 90kg Rottweiler who had to have his cuddly "Lilo and Stitch" toy whenever we went for a walk.

What is the purpose of the community?

Our community exists to help improve owner education across the world. We believe that the better owners can be educated, the more likely they are to have the relationship with their pet they have always dreamed of. Additionally, Pat Miller once said that 98% of dog's given into rescues /shelters/abandoned had received zero behavioural training. We hope that, if you are considering this, these guides might give you the information you need to stop that.

What are the most common issues you help owners with?

We have covered a range of issues including:

  • Leash and walking issues - pulling, reactivity, and aggression during walks
  • Jumping up on people - inappropriate greeting behaviour and attention-seeking
  • Excessive barking - at doors, for attention, when left alone, in cars, and around property
  • Aggression problems - toward people, other animals, or objects
  • Separation anxiety - destructive behaviour and distress when left alone
  • Biting, nipping, and destructive chewing - especially common in puppies
  • Recall issues - not coming when called or running away
  • Potty training problems - house-breaking difficulties
  • Fearfulness and anxiety - phobias, scared behaviour, and hyperactivity
  • Puppy behavioural issues - general new puppy adjustment problems
  • Inappropriate elimination - including eating faeces
  • Furniture and boundary issues - jumping on furniture, accessing restricted areas
  • Multi-dog household problems - dogs not getting along with each other
  • Muzzle training - teaching dogs to accept and wear muzzles properly
What does the entire adolescent program include?

Our puppy program includes the following:

  • 2 x 1:1 home training sessions (2 - 2.5 hours each) covering behavioural rules and specific areas of focus. We can do these sessions in your home or in the park/other areas where you struggle.
  • Access Our Complete Puppy Program: Structured across five parts. Orientation, The Big 8, your Weekly Journey from week 8 to 24, a standing Problem Library, and Beyond The Spine for adolescence. This gives you the confidence that you can solve any problem with your puppy.
  • Access Our Behavioural And Breed Specific Courses: We identify the most common issues with breeds and how to solve them as well as 20+ other behavioural issues
  • Lifetime Access to the 5 Golden Rules: Receive lifetime access to the 5 Golden Rules program as soon as you sign up for the course
  • Phone, Chat and Group Chat Support Through The Community: All our programs comes with ongoing support through our online community. You can also get one-to-one phone and text support on some of our advanced programs
