Puppy 8 - 16 Weeks (Including Puppy School)

Why Do You Even Need This?

Now that, is a great question. Socialisation is one of the biggest factors, but I would also say learning about behaviourism. This is not commonly taught in puppy school which blows my mind, but hey, here we are.

Your puppy school should deliver you more than something you can learn with a quick google search for free. That is what we do. We teach you to understand your dog and help you as an owner to solve behavioural issues before they come up

What Should A Puppy Program Deliver You?

What is it?

In short answer, a high quality puppy program should be the foundation to develop your dog's behavioural capabilities and your understanding. Yes, you might get some cute instagram videos of lots of puppies, and yes you will learn some basic commands (which let's be honest you could just youtube) but that is such a tiny part of a high quality program.

Who is the program for (and not for)?

Who Is It For?

Our program is for new puppy parents (expereinced or not) who are looking to take a proactive approach to their dog's behaviourism. What does this actually mean?

Dog training is usually about commands such as sit, stay etc but this is separate from manging dog behaviour. I train a lot of adult dogs, and many can sit and stay but have terrible behavioural issues. For owners this is an incredibly stressful experience, and we work with people that want to do their best to minimise the risk of this happening. We have worked with people from the following backgrounds:

  • New puppy owners
  • First-time dog parents
  • People looking for a refresher
  • Families wanting to prevent behavioural issues
  • Anyone struggling with puppy house training
  • Owners dealing with puppy biting, barking, or jumping

The Program (8 - 16 Weeks)

How and When

It is important to understand the stages of puppy development:

  • 8 - 12 Weeks: Essentially an adorable hairy potato with legs
  • 12 - 16 Weeks: The potato starts realising it is a dog

Our program works by providing you access to our support tools (alonsigde a cohort of other new puppy parents) to help with things like toilet training, crate training and feeding etc. Until about 12 weeks most puppies won't have had their vaccinations and they have an attention span of about 20 seconds, so we don't run in person work with them. This is really guidance for you as an owner.

Once they hit the 12 weeks, the online cohort training continues with the addition of a once a week puppy school where we cover dog behaviourism, dog training (commands), common problems, socialisation and other health and safety information.

For NON Sydney residents, we do offer a n alternative online version of puppy school (obviously no socialisation) that you can find more details about.
